Salt & Light

You are the Salt of the earth; but if the salt loses it flavor, how shall it be seasoned?  It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men.   Matthew 5:13

You are the Light of the world.  A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden.  Nor do they Light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lamp stand and it gives light to all who are left in the house.  Let your light so shine before men, that they see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.  Matthew 5:14-16

And God blessed them. And God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth and subdue it and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over every living thing that moves on the earth.”   Genesis 1:28

And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.  Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”   Matthew 28:18-20

But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”   Acts 1:8

But in order that it may spread no further among the people, let us warn them to speak no more to anyone in this name.” So they called them and charged them not to speak or teach at all in the name of Jesus.  But Peter and John answered them, “Whether it is right in the sight of God to listen to you rather than to God, you must judge, for we cannot but speak of what we have seen and heard.”   Acts 4:17-20

Faith, Morality, & Government
Moreover, look for able men from all the people, men who fear God, who are trustworthy and hate a bribe,      and place such men over the people as chiefs of thousands, of hundreds, of fifties, and of tens.                              Exodus 18:21

You shall do no injustice in court. You shall not be partial to the poor or defer to the great, but in                       righteousness shall you judge your neighbor.
   Leviticus 19:15

if my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.   2 Chronicles 7:14

Now therefore, O kings, be wise; be warned, O rulers of the earth.  Serve the Lord with fear, and rejoice       with trembling.  Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and you perish in the way, for his wrath is quickly kindled.
Blessed are all who take refuge in him.   Psalm 2:10-12

Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people.   Proverbs 14:34

When the righteous increase, the people rejoice, but when the wicked rule, the people groan.  By justice a       king builds up the land, but he who exacts gifts tears it down.   If a king faithfully judges the poor,  his      throne will be established forever.   Proverbs 29: 2,4,14

Then the word of the Lord came to me: “O house of Israel, can I not do with you as this potter has done? declares the Lord. Behold, like the clay in the potter's hand, so are you in my hand, O house of Israel.  If at any time I declare concerning a nation or a kingdom, that I will pluck up and break down and destroy it,   and if that nation, concerning which I have spoken, turns from its evil, I will relent of the disaster that I intended to do to it.  And if at any time I declare concerning a nation or a kingdom that I will build  and    plant it, and if it does evil in my sight, not listening to my voice, then I will relent of the good that I had intended to do to it.
            Jeremiah 18:5-10

My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge; because you have rejected knowledge, I reject you from         being a priest to me.  And since you have forgotten the law of your God, I also will forget your children.               Hosea 4:6

He has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?  Micah 6:8

Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and     those that exist have been instituted by God. Therefore whoever resists the authorities resists what God    has appointed, and those who resist will incur judgment. For rulers are not a terror to good conduct, but to bad. Would you have no fear of the one who is in authority? Then do what is good, and you will receive his approval, for he is God's servant for your good.  But if you do wrong, be afraid, for he does not bear the     sword in vain. For he is the servant of God, an avenger who carries out God's wrath on the wrongdoer.                 Romans 13:1-4

For by Him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through Him and for Him.   Colossians 1:16
